Thanks to All Who Contributed to My Humanoids & US Labor Market Research Survey
This Spring 2024 semester, one of my required dissertation prep courses was Research Survey Design.
Survey requirements
For this assignment, I had to:
- design a (mixed methods) research survey online,
- include a minimum of 15 questions,
- and collect a minimum of 10 participant responses.
The focus of my survey:
How AI (and onset of the first wave of humanoid workers; like the ones Amazon is deploying across its warehouses) is impacting the USA labor market.
To find my participants, I posted the following survey details on NextDoor, LinkedIn, and a responsible technology discussion board:

If you're:
πΌ πΊπ² based in and/or working in the USA
π€ π have interest in AI's impact on the USA labor market
π€ πΌ have interest in the expanding role of humanoid workers
⏰ π have 10 quick minutes to spare
π π willing to help a full time PhD with a required assignment
:) π ... then I hope you will consider completing my online survey:
HUMANS, HUMANOIDS & THE USA LABOR MARKET
π no personally identifying information is being collected

Results
Though I only needed 10 participants, the responses by 25 participants was beyond wonderful and more than I could have expected.
And though the purpose of the survey was to complete a course for credit, the survey findings were tremendously insightful and so interesting that I may -- of my own volition -- summarize some of the findings in a future post.
Thanks everyone!
For now, I just wanted to thank anyone and everyone who took the time to jump in and be so supportive to me as I worked to get through the course, which btw I did complete last week and passed with flying colors.
Now on to my dissertation, which begins this summer term, for which I'll be sharing my dissertation topic and experiences here as I chug along.
Again, deep and sincere thanks to ALL survey participants who dove in to help.
